Lifetime Achievement Award

R. Ramachander was born on January 10, 1940, in Chelakkara, Trichur District,
Kerala. Aiming to preserve Carnatic Kritisin English he has translated 1950 Kritis,
which include writings of Vaggeyakar as such as Thyagaraja, about 100 Kritiseach of
Purandaradasa, Oothukadu Venkatasubba Iyer and many other. He has kept all his
works to be accessed free of cost on his website. All these translations are now

Mr Sujit Mahapatra Bakul Foundation, Orissa

Bakul Foundation has been leading a Library Movement in Odisha and trying to
promote reading, particularly among children. Bakul has created Libraries in out of
the box settings such as in refrigerators. It has set up 15 libraries in refrigerators in
primary schools (upto class V), The fridges are associated with good things like cold
drinks and ice creams, but now contain delicious food for thought.

Njattyela Sreedharan (Born in 1938 in Thalassery in Kerala), a fourth standard drop-
out, has compiled a dictionary connecting four major Dravidian languages. This
unique dictionary offers a comparative study of Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu.
The Chathur Dravida Bhasha Nighandu (Dictionary of Four Dravidian Languages) published
in 2020 contains 125000 words.

KP Radhamani is a 65-year-old ‘walking librarian’ from a village in Wayanad called Mothakkara. She has been distributing books to women and the elderly at their doorsteps since Braving the hilly terrain, she walks kilometres daily carrying a basket of books. She takes 20-50 Malayalam books covering various genres and subjects from the Pratibha Library and delivers them to around 110 members.
