MISSION MILLION BOOKS
Ratan Nidhi Charitable Trust was established by Mr. Mahendra Mehta in 1967 to help poor children in Mumbai. They strive to empower underserved children, youth and the disabled community through relevant support services like education, clothes, books, food and technology. These days the trust is working tirelessly to promote reading habits among children through their project – “Mission Million Books”.
From its humble origins as a family institution it has grown rapidly, and their projects have covered a wide range of activities located in both India and in other developing countries. To accomplish this they have been donating books and setting up libraries across India.
We run regular donation campaign for collecting of books and then design campaign to give to students. Further we arrange Free home pick up, minimum books donation quantity is 5 kgs. Till date, over 9.6 lac books have been donated to 4000 schools and colleges across India and over 4000 libraries have been set up by the trust. Ratan Nidhi trust has expanded the Mission Million Books project globally to Ghana.
They have shipped 400 cartons – 14 tons in weight containing 19000+ books to Ghana free of cost.
Besides this, they have also provided over 390 educational scholarships to children of terror attack victims. They aim to bring the joy of reading to each and every child of the communities they are involved with.
