A treasure house for book lovers. A large variety of numerous books of different authors and genres available. It’s considered the oldest bookstore in Pune, this store was established in the early 1940s. It is located on East Street, in Pune’s Camp area.

Express Book Service was started by current owner and fourth generation bookseller – Rohit Jerajani’s great grandfather, in the 1940s {pre-Independence era}. Over 7 decades old, they boast an illustrious client roster, featuring the likes of important political figures like Sardar Patel, Jawaharlal Nehru, Lokmanya Tilak, Mohammad Ali Jinnah etc.

It houses a collection of more than 50,000 books that cover genres such as mystery novels, cookbooks, travel, gardening, comic books, classics (often leather bound), self-help, study reference, business, management, gardening, and manuscripts. There are also several collector’s editions of National Geographic magazine.

Till now over 4,000 authors have been given a platform to present their book at various functions organized by Rohit Enterprises/Express Book Service. In addition to its decades-old presence on East Street, EBS also has deep historical ties due to the illustrious list of visitors it has had over the years, including Vallabhbhai Patel, Jawaharlal Nehru, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Prithviraj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, Lata and Usha Mangeshkar, and Pankaj Udhas. Some of them even launched their books at EBS.
